[Mr Potato - Painting]

Love the similarity between the potato and the human. Impact of the piece is wonderful. The dark triangle in the bottom right acts as a drain and pulls my eye out of the picture, putting the white copyright words in that dark space might cure 2 problems. The cut away to see the potato is not convincing. The humans shadow ignores the cutaway and it seems as though the tree is growing in a pit... a narrower strip of green stuff maybe? Great expression on the potato and human! Thank you for sharing this.

love the character as presented. okay with the out of focus paintings in the background. The mesh is distracting and seems like an idea that could be improved on. the white blanket/sheet seems too bulky and takes up too much room and is not folding 'right' around the body. Great story, seems like a very difficult pose to start and then... Thank you for both the drawing and the story.

I like the piece. I think it may be a poor quality photo of the work. The face is burnt out and I suspect that is not actually true. The value of the water is also to high in comparison to the figure. Love the wave motion and abstracted (slightly) of the non-figure parts. The difference in handling between the figure and everything else works (in this piece) for me.

A modifier perhaps, ...sometimes you need to smell the roses quickly... Don't let the bear chasing you distract you from enjoying the cliff dive, dogs think you know something and will back away from a swinging paper bag...
